    What is the difference?

    Plug-in battery
    • Plug & play into an earthed socket
    • No electrician needed — install it yourself
    • Limited to 800 W feed-in to the grid
    • Ideal to start with or in a rented home
    Hard-wired
    • Wired to its own circuit in the fuse box
    • Full power: up to 2400 W charging and discharging
    • Installed and inspected by a certified electrician
    • Best return with higher consumption or many solar panels

    Check your power socket

    A plug-in battery is plugged straight into a wall socket.

    • An earthed socket within 1.5 m of the installation spot
    • The socket is on a circuit of at least 16A
    • No other heavy appliances on the same circuit
    • Do not use an extension lead, power strip or cable reel
    A plug-in battery is limited to 800 W of injection and must be registered with Fluvius. No electrician required.

    Is there a free P1 port on your digital meter?

    The battery reads your consumption through the P1 port of the digital meter.

    • You have a digital meter (with display or blinking LED)
    • The P1 port (RJ12 socket) is free and unused
    • P1 port already taken by another smart module? A splitter is required

    Do you already have solar panels?

    The SolarFlow 2400 AC connects to your existing PV inverter.

    • You know the brand and power rating of your current inverter
    • No PV system? No problem — the battery also works standalone with smart charging on the dynamic tariff
    The SolarFlow 2400 AC is AC-coupled and works with virtually every existing PV system.

    Physical space for the battery

    The battery needs a permanent installation spot.

    • Dry, ventilated space (garage, utility room or cellar)
    • At least 60 cm wide, 30 cm deep and 80 cm high available
    • Ambient temperature between 0°C and 45°C
    • Not in a damp or outdoor space without protection (IP rating required)
    The battery can also be wall-mounted. Our technician advises the best location during the site visit.
